Here is another perfume from my collection, Lady Million by Paco Rabanne. I first tried this fragrance in the airport before a flight to Mexico when it was first launched and I wasn’t too impressed with it, it seemed as though it was the after thought of One Million, the much loved fragrance for men that Mr WLL wears. One Million smells absolutely AMAZING and is instantly recognisable but I don’t think the ladies version has quite the same impact. I just wasn’t blown away by the scent in the way that I was with the men’s version… I often spritz Mr WLL bottle on me when he isn’t looking- its THAT nice! I didn’t think too much about the perfume until I met up with one of my friends a month or so ago and asked her what perfume she had on as it smelt gorgeous, it was Lady Million, and from that point I knew I had to have it.
This, unfortunately is where the love affair stops and this scenario is a prime example that perfumes do smell differently on different people. Its not that I don’t like the smell of Lady Million, it’s nice, its just not amazing and doesn’t smell as good on me as it does on the other girls I’ve smelled it on. I’m pleased I have it in my collection, its completely different to other scents that I have like Gucci by Gucci and Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture but it does have some similarities in that it is long lasting and that is something that I love about Lady Million. The fragrances that I usually go for are strong, overpowering, signature scents with a musky base that are very unique and often instantly recognisable; they’re individual and don’t smell like other perfumes. That’s where Lady Million lets me down, it is just too generic.
Lady Million is a typically floral scent that has top notes of bitter orange and fleshy raspberry, heart notes of neroli, orange flower and Arabian jasmine and a base of honey and patchouli.
The eau de parfum is available in 30, 50 and 80ml bottles and there is also a shower gel and body lotion which are great if you like to layer your fragrance to make it last longer. I bought the 30ml eau de parfum for £35 in Boots. This in itself is unusual for me as I tend to always buy the biggest bottle available when I buy perfume and then decant some into my Travalo. Perhaps, subconsciously, I knew I wouldn’t adore this perfume as much as I loved the smell on my friends? Either way, the 30ml bottle is a great handbag size and I love the packaging. The gold diamond bottle was actually designed by Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance and was inspired by the Regent diamond that is on display in the Louvre in Paris. It is considered to be the most beautiful diamond in the world, I just wish I could say the same thing about the perfume!
Some will love this perfume and some will let it pass by. My advice would be to get a few samples and try it out on your own skin for a few days before committing to the full size, that way you’ll know if it its love or like!
What are your thoughts on Lady Million? Does it float your boat or sink your ship?!
