Love & Relationships

Love is something that we all
need within our lives in one form or another, and yet it is often so hard to get it right and feel
contented. Love relationships are important to so many of us but they can cause a lot of
confusion if we don’t fully understand our feelings or how to convey what we think.Confusion about where the relationship is
going or even if the person you are with is right for you are issues that often
occur.  I don’t think that true love is something that you find and then that’s it, its perfect forever.  I think that its something that you’ve always got to work at.

Occasionally people meet their
soul mate and life partner at a very early age, which is amazing, but
unfortunately for so many people, the world of relationships and love will
mean that lots of people suffer heartbreak more than once on their journey to finding true love.  Although I’m happy with my beau, I certainly kissed a few frogs before I met my prince and had my heart broken a few times in the process.  All of that really helps to make you stronger though and I definitely think that when you do find the one it makes you appreciate them more.

I am often the one that a lot of my friends turn to for advice and guidance when they’re going through struggles especially in their relationships.  I don’t like to talk about my own relationship on my blog as I like to keep that private but I do have thoughts and things to say on love and relationships in general.

Its hard to describe how to know exactly whether your relationship is right, if the person you’re with is the right one or whether your relationship will stand the test of time but I think when you know, you just know and that’s the only way I can describe it.

Any relationship takes time though and you need to work at it.  There’s three areas that I think are really important and that’s communication, making love last and resolving issues.  Today I wanted to share some of my thoughts on these from what I’ve learnt through speaking to my friends about their experiences.

Communicating effectively is one of, if not the most, important thing in a relationship.  Some people are really open with everyone and shout from the roof tops to anyone who’ll listen whether they’re happy in their relationship or having problems whereas some people tend to keep things behind closed doors.

Regardless of where you sit on that spectrum, I think that its so important that you can communicate how you’re feeling to your partner before communicating to others or social media!  I’ve seen so many people posting slushy stuff all over Facebook and it gets a bit sickening after a while, equally I’ve seen people argue and say awful things to one another on there too and its awful to see it being aired online when things could be sorted much more easily if they just talked to one another!

Sometimes though, if relationship
problems occur, it is often difficult to know what to say or who to turn to if you feel as though you can’t speak to your partner, which leads to bottling
up of emotions and it can often seem that there is no way out. Without
communication and guidance it is very easy to continue going round in circles,
which can then lead to destructive behaviours. If you feel as though you can’t speak to your partner, particularly if its a new relationship, then sometimes speaking to an outsider, such as your best friend,
can really help you to get some perspective, sort your thoughts out in your own head and help you understand what and where things could be going wrong, what
behaviours need to change, what is causing the unhappiness and imbalance within
your relationship. They can help you to find and put into practice solutions to
your issues.  From there, you can go to speak to your partner knowing exactly how you feel and then find out how they feel too.  Communication has to work both ways.  You’re not a psychic so until you open up to one another, you’ll not know what the other is thinking.

Love can be so confusing so if you don’t want to speak to a close friend then you could try talking to a relative or someone independently.  Often talking and getting it off your chest really helps but sometimes a lot of people don’t want to discuss their problems with someone they know, so it is no surprise that many people turn to psychics and clairvoyants for advice. Psychic readers use their abilities to offer clear guidance and advice on all issues relating to love and relationships.  I’ve heard that Derek Acorah’sPsychic Etherhas the best, handpicked, psychics and mediums who use individual tools and gifts to provide the best online reading for you.  I’ve visited psychics in the past, not about love and relationships but more for understanding and life guidance and the results were surprisingly accurate.

Making Love Last

A common issue within
relationships is how to make the love last.   Its all exciting and new in the beginning but what about a few years down the line?  Or fifteen years and a couple of children?

This is where date nights come in.  Even if you live together, I think its so important to have proper date nights where you get all dressed up as you would if you were going on a proper date, and head out for a night together, free from the TV, mobile phones and other distractions.  Enjoying each others company and remembering why you got together in the first place is so important.  You’re in a relationship for a reason- enjoy spending time together and being in love.

Tell each other you love each other everyday, kiss and do little things for one another like making breakfast in bed once in a while.  Kind and considerate things shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Issue Resolution

There isn’t a single relationship in the world that will be completely free of any issues at all times.  Every couple faces some barriers from time to time and it is how you resolve these issues that can make you or break you.  Communicating effectively is essential here and I think that it is something that you have to learn how to do and work at.

Issues within your
relationship could stem from deep routed issues that you have carried with you
from previous relationships. You could continue applying the same behaviours to
each relationship you enter into, and then wonder why it is things keep going
wrong. Learning what these issues and behaviours are and then learning to let
them go is essential to building a loving and lasting relationship in the

In the words of Elsa… Let it go!

Great tips! I've been married for almost 14 years and we've had our tougher times but we've always found that communicating is the key!
