Murad Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask

Today I’d like to share with you all my first product review from top skincare brand, Murad.  This is the Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask and let me tell you, it is great!  The mask is designed to dissolve tired, lack lustre skin cells and free pores from trapped dirt and impurities, leaving skin refreshed, revitalised and balanced.  Sound good?  Well I’ve really put it to the test as I’ve been using it weekly for the last month so I’ll be able to give you a good idea as to whether it lives up to its claims.

After cleansing, I apply this fairly evenly to clean skin and leave it on for 15 minutes, usually while I soak in the bath.  The first thing that struck me about this mask is how smooth it is, almost like a gel consistency, which I certainly wasn’t expecting for an exfoliating mask- I thought it would be either a clay mask or full of abrasive particles.  This immediately cast doubt in my mind as I failed to see how a product without exfoliating beads could exfoliate the skin.  I’ll openly hold my hands up- I was wrong.  After reading more about the product, it is the AHAs and fruit enzymes in the mask that physically dissolve the dead cells on the surface of the skin- ah so that’s how it works.

In the run up to my photoshoot with Simply Be, I used these masks to prepare my skin and they certainly got my face ready for the camera.  After application, the masks have a cooling, relaxing effect on my skin.  They don’t tingle or irritate my skin, they simple feel comfortable to wear.  To remove the mask, I use a face cloth that has been ran under warm water and remove the mask in circular motions, polishing it off my skin.  I’m left with a face that looks radiant and refreshed.  My skin looks full of life and the lack lustre skin cells are a thing of the past.  The mask does a great job of exfoliating my skin without being harsh and stripping it of its natural oils.

Having just applied the mask…

The box includes six single use sachets of the Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask which contain LOADS of product, more than is needed for 1 application in my opinion.  I love products that come in sachets like this as I travel quite often for work and leisure so they are perfect for taking with me to pamper my skin in the hotel room.  I’d definitely repurchase these for future trips!

They are available direct from the Murad website and from Marks and Spencer for £25.  They also have some great deals on

Have you tried this face mask?  What other products would you recommend from Murad?  I’m always looking to find new gems!
