My Shoe Wishlist for the New Season

Hi, I’m Katie from and Laura has very kindly
let me write a guest post for her. I’ve chosen to share with you some of the
shoes that I’m craving this autumn.

Clichés are clichés for a reason and the old saying that “a
girl can never have enough shoes” is a popular one, because it’s true. The
right shoes can completely transform an outfit, taking a little black dress
from seasons ago and bringing it back up-to-date. Just changing shoes can switch
a look from work to play. Or adding a pair of heels can take a pair of jeans
from day to night. They’re just some of the reasons why I own so many pairs –
and why I’ll be adding to my collection this season with some of my favourites:

Shoe Wishlist

biker boots

It can be impossible getting boots that are both stylish and
which perfectly fit your calves.
La Redoute’s long biker boots are an exception,
coming in different width fittings, including for wider calves. And, rather
than the ubiquitous black, they come in a delectably different plum hue. There
are grips to stop you slipping over in any snow or ice, buckle detailing across
the ankle and tassles on the zip. What more could you need?

So, that’s my favourite pair of long boots for this autumn
and winter, but a girl needs ankle boots too. I’m loving Geox’s version.
They’ve got a tough look, with a myriad of studs and buckles. I’m going to wear
them to transform my summer floral dresses into winter outfits, with the
addition of these boots, a pair of opaques and a boyfriend cardigan.

Saint Laurent’s Tribute sandals are iconic. And, this season,
they’ve been reworked by designer Hedi Slimane, in a very sophisticated nude
tone that creates an optical illusion to elongate the leg if your skin tone and
shoe colour are closely matched. Also, because the ankle straps sits down low,
it doesn’t cut across the most unflattering part of the leg, which can make
limbs look shorter. I’m going to be wearing them with everything from ripped
skinny jeans to my fail safe LBD.

print loafers

The company behind Pretty Ballerinas have now added loafer
shapes to their shoe styles with Pretty Loafers. One of my favourite styles is
poni print
to add a touch of femininity to even the most casual of
outfits. I’d slip them on with a pair of skinny jeans or wide legged trousers. They’re
the sort of piece that will never go out of fashion as animal print is a
perennial style staple. You know if you put them away in the back of the
wardrobe after this winter, you’ll be digging them out again in years to come.

shiny brogues

Masculine dressing was a key trend on the catwalks for the
autumn/winter season. And I love a beautiful pair of brogues for adding the
tomboy look beloved of the likes of Tilda Swinton and Erin O’Connor.
are the perfect mix of boy meets girl and would look great teamed with a simple
pair of jeans and classic white t-shirt, or with a skater skirt. They’re ideal
with this season’s mannish coats.

So that’s my winter shoe wardrobe all sorted with my perfect
pairs of flats, heels and boots. Now, I just need to find the clothes to go
with them…

I have a hard time getting boots. I finally found some at a company called Slimcalf boot!! They have widest collections of narrow boots.
