Barry M’s Pink Flamingo has to be one of the most gorgeous summery shades of nail polish out there. It is a gorgeous coral pink, very similar to OPI’s Elephantastic Pink, like a softer, lighter, slightly more coral pink toned sister. It is still very much a pink polish though as the coral in it just gives it that creamy, softer edge. Very pretty.
However my love affair with this polish begins and ends with the colour. As a rule, I’m not a fan of Barry M polishes. They apply unevenly and look streaky so I always need three coats to get them looking opaque which is a right carry on when they take an absolute age to dry!! I also find my nails to chip the very same day with Barry M polishes (without using OPI’s RapiDry Top Coat in which case I get about 3 days out of them before they chip). Pink Flamingo is no exception to this rule unfortunately.
So would I recommend it? No probably not, unless you are on a budget and REALLY like the colour. Otherwise I’d go for Elephantastic Pink from OPI as it’s a very similar colour, applies like a dream and dries quickly. Barry M polishes are available from Superdrug both online and in store for £2.99, if you’re on a budget, I’d recommend Models Own polishes which are only £2 more and they have a wide range of colours too with a much better formula, application and staying power than Barry M.
