Paul & Joe Beauté NEW Makeup Collection for Autumn 2018

Paul and Joe Beaute Autumn Winter 2018 WhatLauraLoves Blog

Unique beauty favourite, Paul & Joe, have released their new collection for autumn 2018; Moonlight On The River Seine.

As with many of the other collections from the French design house, this latest release was inspired by the romanticism and mystery of the full moon light rippling on the River Seine, the street lamps of Pont Neuf being silently lit and the transient nightscape of Paris as it descends into nightfall.

New eye colour duos that have been inspired in colour, effect and product pan styling by the  vivid hues of the moon, have been added to the new collection.  They’re vivid in tone with a delicate shimmer and you can use them sparingly or built up to create a more intense, dramatic eye look.

Guaranteed to be a favourite of the newbies is the Paul & Joe Stick Highlighter that’s designed to give the skin a dewy sheen, creating a mysterious moonlit effect.  However I think it’ll be the cat shaped product bullet that’ll instantly draw makeup fans in before they’ve even had the chance to swatch it!

For those who are fans of the Paul & Joe Lipsticks like I am, they’ll not be disappointed with the rich hues they’ve added to this release.  Inspired by autumnal tones, the three new lipsticks give the lips a sensual, capturing that love at first sight moment.

I’ve been trying out 109 Artiste, a true warm red and love how it melts onto the lips, giving them a dewy glossiness that feels hydrating and comfortable to wear.  For being so nourishing, I was surprised with the longevity of the lip colour.  They’re created with an oil treatment as the base that melts onto the lips, giving them a coat of hydration while being touch proof and delivering a hit of moisture with a fresh finish that’ll be even more lush going into the colder winter months when the lips can easily become chapped with the elements.

Paul & Joe have created three new limited edition lipstick cases as they do with each collection, inspired by the key fabrics used by their fashion arm however with this collection, they’ve also brought out the exclusive feline staple… the Paul & Joe Cat Lipstick Case.

Shaped like a cat with the ability to interchange it with all of your Paul & Joe lipstick shades, this case has been very much long awaited.  I think it’ll be guaranteed to sell out so order yours quickly if you’ve fallen in love with it!

Not forgetting the cheeks, Paul & Joe have added two new blush shades to the line in rosy pink and red shades with three limited edition blush compacts (I have the 019 style)  to match that coordinate with the limited edition lipstick packaging.

Paul and Joe Powder Blush in 008 The Left Bank reviewed on WhatLauraLoves

Created to be as beautiful as the flowers that blossom along the River Seine, the new powder blush duos with a darker and lighter shade, softly enhance the cheeks, giving a loved up flush.  I’ve been trying out Shade 008 The Left Bank which is a mode pink shade combined with a rose red that gives a beautiful pop of colour to the cheeks that is totally buildable if you’d like a more intense finish, although for me, a light flush is sufficient.  It has a pearl red and silver sheen to it that gives the blush a beautiful finish on the cheeks.

A beautiful collection, I’m sure you’ll agree and one that’s right on the money for the autumn and winter months.

Paul and Joe Moisturising Primer reviewed by WhatLauraLoves

Another product that I’ve been trying out from Paul & Joe is their Moisturising Foundation Primer in 01 Dragee which was part of a release of new primers earlier this year.  I’ve tried out a Paul & Joe Primer before and loved it but this one wasn’t quite suited to my personal tastes.

It contains SPF 15 which is absolutely fabulous for if you’re wearing makeup during the day but the actual consistency was a little hard for me to blend into my skin as I felt as though I couldn’t get it to spread very well if I were applying it neat, so to speak.  However added into a tinted or more of a fluid foundation made for a far more workable result.  What didn’t work for me was the really intense pearlised effect of the primer, the Secret D’Or shimmer, as it really gave me an almost pearl-like complexion which was too intense on my tanned skin after I got back from my holiday.  If you’re someone with dry skin thats sallow, dull and lack lustre then I’d really recommend giving this primer a try as it may work well for your skin.

Otherwise, I’d recommend the Pearl Foundation Primer which I’ve been using for a couple of years now.
