Interior designers say you should redecorate your home every three to five years. This is how long it takes for your living space to start feeling mundane, but it can be expensive to Redecorate as often as that – below you will find affordable home improvement ideas for this summer.

Create Green Space

If you want to breathe new life and energy into your living space then introduce some lovely green plants. It is a myth that green plants increase the oxygen in your home – they might do a little bit, but not a lot – still they make a perfect home improvement idea.

Plants take carbon dioxide (Co2) from the air and combine it with water to create sugar – that’s what they live on. The by-product is oxygen, but it isn’t enough to make a huge difference in the home – but it’s also true that green plants improve your home and make it feel fresh.

Use Shower Panels

When it comes to redecorating your bathroom this summer you might be thinking about how you can update your Shower room without breaking the bank. Ceramic tiles are the first thing people think of but those are expensive to buy and to install.

A first-class alternative to ceramic tiles is wall panels which are made from PVC and are larger than tiles meaning you can cover more area for less money. PVC is also a cheaper material than ceramic but it’s just as effective and produces less mold.

Upcycle Furniture

If you’re getting bored with the look and feel of your home and need to introduce a bit more color and inspiration you can upcycle furniture you own, or buy some second-hand furniture and upcycle that. Upcycling is a fun interesting, and planet-friendly way to improve your home this summer.

The great thing about upcycling furniture is you get to use your imagination and DIY skills to make a worn-out chair, table, or wardrobe, more interesting. There are plenty of DIY videos on the Internet to help you out.

Paint and Replace

Sometimes we don’t have the time or funds to invest in a new kitchen, bathroom, or living space, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be effectively updated and refreshed with a little bit of elbow grease and some TLC.

What is your favorite color? Or what is your favorite color these days, sometimes this changes but lucky for your there’s plenty of colors available to redecorate your home with. Accent walls are great ideas, it’s also good to paint units and replace handles.

Fancy Storage Boxes

Clutter is a perennial problem, especially if you have kids. You clear up your home for the summer and in hours it looks like a mess again. The trouble is that clutter is bad for your general well-being and mindset so you need to find a way to solve the issue.

One great solution is fancy storage boxes. These come in different shapes and sizes, some of them fit together and stack to give you more options while others look like old treasure chests and sit at the bottom of the bed.
