So apparently today is National Christmas Jumper Day. How come I have never heard of this before? I for one do not need an excuse to dress up and wear a Christmas Jumper, I’d probably wear on in April if the weather was cool enough. I’m a sucker for a theme but I’m also a sucker for anything to do with charity. I love to get involved and donate where I can which you’ll know if you watched my ‘Ways To Give Back’ video; where, coincidentally, I’m also wearing another Christmas jumper.
Anyway, I digress. National Christmas Jumper Day is an annual fundraising event organised by the lovely people at Save The Children. All you need to do to take part is to pop on your snazziest Christmas jumper and text WOOLLY to 70050 to donate £2. There’s not much that £2 can buy you these days but it can do a heck of a lot for this children’s charity so please donate if you can.
The Christmas jumper that I am wearing is, of course, from one of my favourite plus size retailers, Yours Clothing, who have possibly the largest selection of plus size Christmas jumpers I’ve seen this winter!
The Christmas Penguin Jumper is a real cutie. It is a fine knit so it is light weight but still keeps you warm when wearing it and it doesn’t add a lot of bulk to your frame like chunky knitwear does, making it a great layering piece if you wanted to pop a cami underneath. I love the grey marl colour as it is so complimentary to the skin and reminds me of the cool, frosty weather that we have at the moment.
The penguin itself is very sweet as the nose and feel are made out of brushed pale gold sequins while the hat and the attached scarf are a burgundy knit and there is a white bobble pom pom stitched onto the end of the hat too. There is a really pretty snowflake pattern in white along the hem and the cuffs too which looks quite subtle so that the focus remains on the penguin.
Since this is a longline jumper, it could easily be worn with leggings or jeans and the sizing is fantastic. I’d suggest ordering your usual size in it but expect the fit to be slightly more roomy than usual. It feels so comfortable to wear and the best part is that it doesn’t get me too hot when I come indoors out of the cold. I wore this to complete my Christmas shopping and I felt so comfortable all day.
I decided to pair it with some black leggings and a skater skirt. I’d been swimming on the morning first so I always like to have something quick and easy to change into afterwards as I always find it a bit of a struggle getting ready when I’ve just dried off from the pool! I’ve wore my brand new quilted boots that I got to wear for my graduation too. I am IN LOVE with these! *insert heart eyed emoji right here!*
