Love my plus size blue tartan dress? Let me tell you, it is one of those pieces that years ago, I wouldn’t have bought for fear of how it would look on me but now, I’m really confident shopping for my wardrobe and its made a huge difference to how confident I feel in my outfits.
How many times do you skip ordering something because you’re just not sure it’ll look great on you? Don’t worry girls, I’ll admit, I’ve done that so many times in the past but as my confidence has grown, I’ve done it less and less and now I don’t do it at all because really, whats the worst that could happen?
Now, whenever I place an order online, I always try to add a ‘what if’ item to my basket; something that I’m not sure if it is really me, my style or if it will fit or suit me. The same goes for when I’m shopping in a store; I’ll always take a bonus item into the changing rooms with me just for the hell of it and I must say, I’ve discovered some of my favourite outfits in this way. There’s no harm in doing this girls and I’d urge you all to as well.
Because let’s face it, WHAT IF if doesn’t look great? You can send it back, get a refund & all is right with the world & your bank balance… but WHAT IF it looks lush & you feel fab in it? That’s the magic!
I have found so many gorgeous outfits in this way including the plus size blue tartan dress from LASULA via Simply Be and the more I do this, the more I build my confidence with fashion. I paired it with my River Island ankle boots and Zatchels backpack. I’ve loved this backpack from the moment I got it. It’s only small but it fits the essentials in and the straps are so long which is great news for me. Again, that was something I was a little unsure of ordering as I thought the straps would be too small for my shoulders and back but I was wrong; its perfect!
SO WHAT if you don’t end up feeling comfortable and confident in something? WHAT IF you do, like I did in this dress? The happy feeling is worth the risk, I promise ladies!
I’ve written a post all about feeling confident in your body and loving yourself from every angle that you might find useful too.
