When the colder months rear their frosty head, the one item I see so many fashionistas pulling out of their wardrobes is a leather or leather effect jacket.
A leather jacket, particularly the biker styles, can really transform an outfit by adding a little edge as well as a much needed layer of warmth. I really like the effect that they have on girlie dresses; it really toughens them up and I love how versatile they are as they can be dressed up or down.
Some of the best styles I’ve seen for autumn and winter feature faux fur too and I’ve been scouring the internet looking for the best plus size leather jacket ever since.
Well girls, I’ve found it…
The Black PU Leather Look Biker Jacket With Faux Fur Collarfrom Yours Clothing was that popular last year that they’ve brought it back this year for the new season.
Available in burgundy as well as black, this jacket is a really quick (and warm!) way to update your wardrobe for the autumn season and it’ll see you right through to the springtime.
Its a PU jacket with a leather look finish and the quality is great for the price point. Theres a couple of zipped pockets to keep your hands warm and your coins safe when you’re out at all of those bonfire night firework displays and the faux fur around the hood is detachable so whatever the weather, you can wear this jacket. I love that it looks great with and without the faux fur, although with is definitely my preferred way of wearing it because the fur is so soft and it really keeps my neck warm when I wear it.
This jacket has silver hardware and the quilted, stitched details you’d expect from a biker jacket which are always going to be on trend.
I found this jacket to be true to size but I do think that with a leather look biker jacket, the size you go for should really depend on how you’ll be wearing the item. I personally dropped down a size because I never intend to wear this jacket fastened up. I always envisage biker jackets to be worn open, either over the top of a dress or knitwear, but never closed. For that reason, sizing down was the best option for me for a more fitted look across my shoulders and arms.
I absolutely love this jacket more than I ever thought I would and I actually really surprised myself when trying it on. It made me realise that wearing this classic style is all about finding this piece thats right for you and I definitely have with this one.
You’ll see I’ve styled it up at The Alnwick Garden which has been given a spooky transformation in time for Halloween. I’m wearing it as part of a wearable werewolf style costume with my Yours Clothing Black Bardot Swing Top and my Limited Collection Black Leather Look PU Leggings which are another staple in my wardrobe for the autumn months.
Of course this look would work particularly well throughout the autumn and winter months, without the added blood and Headband with Cat Ears but its certainly something fun for over the Halloween period.
This year, I’m all about creating costumes out of items that you can wear again and again over the colder months. I’m really trying to stick to a budget when it comes to shopping lately and it really seems like a total waste to pull out a lot of money on a costume that you’ll wear once.
Instead, I’ve got a jacket, top and leggings that I can mix and match countless times over the autumn and they look great with a slick of this classic lipstick from MAC in the shade Ruby Woo and my Steve Madden biker boots that I’ve had for a good two or three years now.
If you’re subscribed to me on Youtube then you may have noticed that I’ve created a Halloween inspired autumn fashion lookbook video filled with lots of ideas for updating your wardrobe for the autumn months and how to change them up into costumes for Halloween too. There’s a corpse bride, a cat, this werewolf look, a devil and more!
Do check it out and give the video a thumbs up if you enjoy it.
Filming my lookbook and shooting these photographs really got me into the autumn spirit. I love to see the leaves change colour and crunch them beneath my feet on autumnal walks.
