At the end of February and the beginning of March, I went on a little bit of a spending spree. I’d saved up some money to update my wardrobe with plain pieces in basic colours as my wardrobe was severely lacking.
My style has really changed a lot since last summer and this outfit is very much a reflection of that toned down style.
I’m wearing my pretty basic all black uniform of a black plus size cami and the best plus size leggings known to mankind, complete with PU leather look panelling. They keep coming back into stock and then selling out really quickly so if you can’t get your hands on them, then these leather leggings will give a similar effect.
Over the top of the cami, I’ve introduced a dark khaki green into my wardrobe with this lightweight sleeveless kimono. It took me an absolute age to find on the website because it looks more of a tan brown but the colour is actually ‘dark olive’.
This piece is a really classic shape that flows over any lumps and bumps. The colour is really flattering for all hair and skin colours and it looks great whether you’re wearing it dressed down for a smart-casual daytime look or dressed up for an evening out. I’ve actually worn this for a meal and drinks out by adding some black heels, a clutch and jewellery and by putting a fancier black top on.
Usually I would associate this colour with the autumn but it seems as though dark greens are very much here to stay for the spring. Since this sleeveless kimono is made from a very thin material, it will be perfect to wear when the weather gets warmer too.
For reference, it is dual sized and there’s no stretch in it at all. I picked my usual size and found that it fit the way that I wanted it to so if you want to go for a similar look, you should be fine choosing your usual size.
I love this bag because it instantly makes any outfit look chic and its great whether you’re off to work or wanting to achieve an off duty look.
