Remember that great Purminerals offer I told you about last month? Well it’s still running until the 11th September and today I’m going to share with you a make up look that I’ve put together using some of their products and a review of those products.
I’m wearing a pretty easy to recreate base consisting of a bb cream, powder, contour, highlight and coral blush. On my lips I have a pop of colour that I’ll be blogging about very soon on WhatLauraLoves and I’ve ran some a brown eyebrow pencil through my brows.
Now onto the eyes and where this review really starts.
There are two products that really complete this look, the first is an eye shadow trio and the second is a mascara.

On my eyes, I’m wearing the Pur Minerals Eye Trio in Jet Setter*. This is a gorgeous set of three gold and brown eye shadows that can be used individually or together to create a fully blended eye make up look. There is a shimmery pink champagne shade (great as a brow bone and inner corner highlight), a shimmery slightly bronze toned gold shade (great for all over the lid colour) and a more matte looking rich dark brown (perfect for adding depth to the crease and making the look a little more smoky).

When swatched, the shadows appear buttery, pigmented and full of depth. When applied to the lid, they are a little less pigmented but can be built up to create a stronger look all the same. This makes them a great option for day to night wear as they can be applied as a more subtle wash of colour for during the day and the intensity can be built up for a more evening appropriate look. They feel really comfortable to wear, there is very little fall out and I found that they didn’t crease throughout the day when worn without an eye primer.
The shadows are suitable for all skin types and they are fragrance free so they wont irritate your eyes and they don’t contain parabens or alcohol. The Pur Minerals eye shadows are suitable for vegans too.
These retail for £20.00 a piece for a 3g set of three eye shadows which I think is such a good deal. The packaging is compact so it is great for travel and wont take up too much room in your make up bag but it is sturdy too so it isn’t going to smash everywhere.
To add to the look, I added a little black eye pencil to my waterline then slicked on some of the Pur Minerals Big Blink mascara (link here for my American friends) to my lashes.
Big Blink* is a mascara that is marketed as an extreme lash enhancer. Containing Argan Oil, I found that this mascara applies smoothly and evenly and once removed (easily on a cotton pad with some Bioderma- review here), I found that my lashes felt nourished and conditioned. The application is certainly buildable and leaves my lashes with some added length and separation and they looked fanned out. The above photos were taken after one coat with no eyelash curling prior to application.
The wand took a little getting used to for me. I love silicone/plastic wands over fibre ones but this one feels slightly square shaped which is different to the others I’ve tried like that of the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes. After a few applications though, I really got to grips with it and found that it was easy to use.
The great thing about this mascara is that it doesn’t have any fall down and it lasts all day.
