Purminerals Rave

The beauty about being a Beauty Blogger (see what I did there?) is that I get to try lots of wonderful products out all of the time.  With so many fantastic products being applied daily, it really takes something quite special to make me say, ‘WOW’.

Well- wow, wow, WOW, hello Purminerals!

All About Purminerals
Purminerals are a brand that have launched exclusively in Marks and Spencer’s in the UK from America where they have been making women look their best and improving the appearance of their skin for over a decade.  They are the pioneers of the first pressed mineral make up and claim to be leaders in ‘No Mess, No Stress’ mineral make up as they combine cutting edge technology with patented natural skincare ingredients that create a multi tasking formula that corrects, prevents and interrupts common skin concerns so that the wearer gets the most out of their make up and enjoys radiant skin.  Purminerals are all about easy to use products that give amazing results, even after you’ve removed the make up and I have to say, I couldn’t agree more!

I’ve been trying out one of their award winning 4 in 1 products and a make up brush and I am more than impressed.  You might remember I featured these in my January Favourites post and I’m now ready to review them for you.

Wearing Purminerals

Purminerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Compact and Purminerals Chisel Make Up Brush

The Purminerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Compact powder with SPF 15 is a skin perfecter that is absolutely amazing.  I’m wearing the shade Light in the photo above which was taken after about 5 hours of wear.  Using the Chisel Makeup Brush, I have been applying this all over my face and seeing instant results that are fairly long lasting like in the photograph above.  It evens my skin tone  smooths out the appearance of fine lines, makes my skin look smooth and flawless and most noticeably, it hides my large pores in quite a dramatic fashion, I found.  It is absolutely fantastic.  The coverage can be built up depending on the occasion and a fairly full coverage look can be achieved without the product making the skin look cakey.  I get a good 8 hours of wear out of this foundation on my very oily skin, before having to reapply a quick dusting to soak up the excess shine.  I’ve used it as a dusting of powder over my Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation too which again, creates a flawless face but the real beauty of this product is when it is used as the only foundation on my skin.

The compact that the pressed powder comes in is a heavy duty affair that feels solid and has a good sized mirror, perfect for popping in your handbag when you’re off out to work or in your clutch for a night out.

Like I said, I’ve been applying the powder in buffing motions with the Chisel Make Up Brush which is another absolute gem.  It is a professional makeup brush that is designed exclusively for the application of the 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation but I’ve heard it works well with the pressed blush and speciality powders too.  I haven’t tried these but I have used it with my No7 Natural Blush in Candy Pink and the brush applied the blusher beautifully picking up just the right amount of colour and leaving a smooth, even flush of colour on my cheeks.  The brush itself is cruelty free and all-natural, being made up of a blend of goat, sable and pony hair.  It is densely packed, super soft and picks up just the right amount of product.  I have a lot of makeup brushes in my collection and this is definitely one of the very best and certainly the best brush to use with this compact.

One thing that really struck me about this powder, and the Purminerals range in general, is that there is such a wide shade range, I’d definitely say there is a colour to suit every skin tone.  This is my new favourite powder and I cannot recommend the two of these together, they’re a dream team!

This compact retails for £24.00 for 8g of product and the Chisel Make Up Brush is £13.00, both are available exclusively from Marks and Spencer.

Have you tried any products from Purminerals?

Hi Laura do you know whether it's any good for combination skin? I have dry patches as well as oily places so it's a bit of a nightmare! I was hoping this would be a solution for covering the rash I get on my cheeks occasionally.

I'd definitely suggest giving it a go. I have some small dry patches on my mostly oily face and it doesnt cling to those dry areas. xxx
