If theres one shop that I just can’t get enough of at the moment, its River Island. I’ve always loved their footwear and accessories but now that they have the RI Plus line, I can enjoy a far wider range of their clothes too.
My River Island Plus Size Blue Trench Coat is one of my most worn items this spring. You might remember seeing it in this blog post here but if you’re a friend in real life then you’ll quite possibly be sick of the sight of me in it as I literally haven’t taken it off over the last couple of month.
I love everything about this coat from the light colour and weight of the fabric to the flattering cut and the way that it coordinates so easily with a lot of my wardrobe.
In today’s post, I’m wearing it with this pink and cream laser cut peplum top that I got from Gemma Collins boutique last year. You might have seen my review of it in this post. While I doubt she’ll have any left in stock at her store, you can get the mint green version, that I also wore here, for a much lower price than I paid online at the Apples and Pears online clothing store here.
On my bottom half, I’m wearing the New Look denim look leggings that I absolutely adore. I’ve owned these for years and years and I always repurchase them whenever I wear them out. I’ve been trying to find a link to them for this blog post and I can’t find one on their website or on ASOS so I really hope that they haven’t stopped selling them as they’re a really great option for apple shapes who struggle to find jeans to fit the tummy and legs 🙁
As for accessories, I’ve paired my Thomas Sabo charm bracelet with this outfit to compliment the blue tones in the clothing I’ve chosen to wear. This is a quick and easy way to look as though your outfit is really well thought out and put together.
This is a new bag for me and it might come as a bit of a surprise given that its a highstreet option. I very very rarely buy bags as I tend to invest in designer pieces once in a blue moon but when I travelled to Icmeler in Turkey last month and my friend was using my hand luggage suitcase to put some of her clothes in for the trip, I needed a small handbag to take with me onto the plane. I didn’t have one that was small without being mad expensive, so I headed to River Island and picked up this beauty for only £35.
It is the winged tote bag in navy and cream with gold hardware and it is absolutely STUNNING. I popped up a post on Instagram about this bag and so many of you tweeted and commented saying how expensive it looked. I absolutely love this style and I’ve continued carrying it out so often since I got back from my trip. It was an ideal hand luggage size as it fit all of my aeroplane essentials and more inside.
River Island have this bag in a multitude of different colour ways and I’d really suggest picking one up if you’re in the market for a new affordable bag. It has just the one compartment inside so you’re not restricted on what you can fit in and the front panel has an expandable pocket as well as a small zipped pocket. The bag is secured with a zip to the centre and a magnetic button on the front section and you can carry it either using the top handles or over your shoulder with the long strap. Super easy and effortlessly chic!
I’ve really got the bug for River Island handbags now and I’m desperately trying to resist the urge to buy another… a girl can never have too many handbags right?
