Scarlett and Jo Plus Size Maxi Shirt Dress Review

Scarlett and Jo Plus Size Maxi Shirt Dress

We’re now into June and I’m still wearing navy so it doesn’t look as though this new obsession is going to go away anytime soon, does it?  Ever since I bought my Chanel O Case in navy and gold, I’ve been loving the blue hue.

One piece that pairs particularly well with this Chanel clutch bag is the Scarlett and Jo See Through Duster Maxi Shirt Dress in the colour midnight.  Sounds like a big of a mouthful doesn’t it?

Essentially, its a long, sheer shirt that you can wear buttoned up as a dress (with a slip underneath or else you’ll be showing EVERYONE, EVERYTHING!) or open as more of a floaty, lightweight coat.  The latter is how I prefer to wear it and, on my shape, this is the way that the garment best suits me.  It has splits up the sides so I find that it works really well when worn in this way; light floaty and perfect for summer!

It is made of a light georgette fabric which makes it ideal for wearing during the warmer months.  It is a very simple piece with buttons down the centre, faux breast pockets on either side and the ability to roll the sleeves up or have them down.  I actually think that the sleeves are quite small fitting on this item so I’d be cautious if your arms are an area that you usually struggle to dress.

Aside from that, I’d say that this garment is true to size and if you’re wondering about the length, it does almost touch the floor on my 5ft 5″ tall body, when the wind isn’t blowing!

Scarlett and Jo Plus Size Maxi Shirt Dress

I paired my designer clutch bag and plus size shirt dress with a white ribbed cotton vest from Yours Clothing and my ASOS Curve pull on jeggings in the standard blue denim wash.

For jewellery, I went a little rose gold crazy and added my statement cuff, Pandora rose anchor chain and feather pendant, River Island rose gold stud earrings and my white Kenneth Cole watch.  For shoes, of course I’m wearing my Michael Kors flats which wont come as any surprise to regular readers!
