Theres one colour that has totally stolen my heart this year and that’s navy. Although I’m sure that’ll come as no surprise for regular readers.
It all started with a wrap and some flats and then the next thing I knew, I was falling head first into Chanel and leaving the store with the most beautiful navy O Case.
The obsession continues…
As soon as I saw the Scarlett and Jo Sweetheart Dress, I knew that I had to own it.
It is in the signature S&J shape that I love with the sweetheart neckline, 3/4 length sleeves and elasticated waistband. However this dress is in navy which makes a great change from the black that I usually see from Scarlett and Jo.
The blue hue is absolutely perfect for summer as its softer than the black and looks fantastic with a tan. It is especially complimented by the most gorgeous floral design on the skirt. While it is a busy print, the mix of flower sizes and varying hues make the design so interesting and eye catching.
What I love about the mix of colours in this dress is that theres still some black included within the colour palette of the skirt. This makes pairing shoes to complete the outfit easy.
I don’t have any navy heels and have never found any that I have felt particularly drawn to, so to be able to pair my black heels with this outfit makes looking put together a doddle.
As you’d expect from a Scarlett and Jo plus size dress, the fit is true to size, with plenty of material in the skirt so that when you sit down, it doesn’t ride up and show tomorrows laundry.
There’s also a touch of netting in the underskirt which helps to give the dress that gorgeous flared out, prom look that I love from a Scarlett and Jo dress.
If you’re looking for a dress that combines a touch of glamour with a vintage 50s silhouette then this one is bang on!
The Scarlett and Jo website also have a fabulous range of plus size dresses available in sizes 12 to 32.
