Get off social media

Go for a walk

You will think of different thoughts and have new ideas. If there is a park or a forest nearby, take a stroll there. Being around plants and animals is a natural high.

Chin up and smile

Forcing a smile even in a stressful situation can actually lift your mood, reduce your stress levels and actually make you feel happier. It even has the ability to improve your immune system and make you live longer. Who would’ve thought? Even a fake smile can help. It is also an act of strength and defiance so go for it, smile.

Laugh as much as you can

Smiling, laughing, there is a pattern here! Laughing is also great way to reduce stress, regulate blood pressure, and boost the immune system. Studies have found it can add eight years on to your life. So, therefore, it is actually a form of medication. It is also a great way to bond with other people. If you have a similar sense of humour, you will be friends for life.

Sleep well

Having a regular seven to eight hours of sleep a night is essential for your happiness. If you sleep well, you will have a heightened sense of wellbeing. You have to rest. When you sleep, the body repairs the damage that has been done during the day, and it changes short term memories into long term memories. If you struggle to sleep, ensure you don’t have any stimulants too late, like tea or coffee, or cigarettes. Also avoid alcohol.
