No matter where life takes you, its so important to remain humble and to always remember where you have come from. Experience and observance have led me to learn how people can change with monetary success or the fame game and at times, it can be pretty ugly.
The thing is, life can change at any given moment and those you meet on the way up, you’ll need on the way back down. All too often in life do we look for the next best thing while taking our eyes off what we already have, without realising that we can have both. It is possible to strive for more while being thankful for what you already have and maintaining relationships with those who were kind and respectful towards you and who valued you from the beginning.
My advice? Rise with the support of those who love you and don’t look down when you look back. Experiences make us who we are. No one is better than anyone else in this life because of their upbringing, house, money in the bank or education.
Life may sometimes seem as though if you’re wealthy, you’re better than others but it’s not true. You could be driving a Ferrari or a Fiat but the chances are, you’d still go to the same places in it and you could carry a Chanel on your arm or a Primark bag but you’d still put the same things inside.
We all know someone where if you’ve been to Tenerife, they’ve been to “Elevenerife” and it’s just not cool, no one likes a bragger! Be passionate about where you’re from and the life lessons you’ve learned from the people around you.
I’m really proud to be from the North East, specifically Sunderland and I adore calling South Shields my home. There’s an incredible sense of community spirit here and the people are genuine, down to earth and kind.
When I put together this outfit, it really made me think of home, as red and white are the Sunderland AFC football team’s colours. They may have gone down a league but the Mackem spirit is still going strong!
I wouldn’t think of myself as particularly fashionable, I’ve literally just paired a red and white top with coordinating pieces but I love how it comes together. You don’t have to have loads of money or wear really out there clothes to be stylish.
Style is whatever you make it and I’ll always be a normal, Sunderland lass!

What life lessons have you learned? How important do you think being humble is? Are you proud of where you’re from?
I'm ashamed to admit that it took me rereading the sentence a couple of times to get the 'elevenrife' joke.
I think sometimes we all need to give ourselves a check and make sure we are staying humble and not being a little bit of a brag.
I love your outfit, it looks so stylish. I love celebrating where I live too and it's not good to brag about stuff is it?
I agree, it is so important to stay humble. So many people seem to forget where they came from.
Such wise words and such a lovely post to go with it too, totally loving your top…it stands out beautifully
This is such a lovely positive post. And a pretty cheerful outfit to go with it!
Such a great post! I agree — it's so important to stay humble as our circumstances can change at any moment.
That top's really lovely. I did laugh at "elevenerife" that's so so true… I always feel a bit sorry for people like that! 😀

Haha it is so true! I think we’ve all been victim to doing it in the past but you quickly learn that its not a good way to be. Very sad xxx
Aw I like this post, it’s very true. It doesn’t matter what car you drive, you’re still driving to the same place and doing the same chores. We all have to go food shopping, fill up the car etc. We focus so much on the next “big thing” sometimes we lose track of what we already have.
