Tag: You’re It!

Hey Girlies

Posts have been a little absent the past few days as I have been staying at my cousins in Catterick, Yorkshire.  I’m back home Thursday though so intend to do my Laura’s Saturday Tea Cup post then- took all my piccies on Saturday, just didn’t bring my laptop with me to be able to upload them 🙁 Never mind.  It was Peppermint by the way and GORGEOUS, so expect that on Thursday!  Anyway, I digress.  I have seen a few people do these Tags which take me back to my Myspace days of doing quizzes and thinking up things to say to catch a certain boys attention or hint at something.  Thankfully I am now 22 and fully grown out of this haha, although I would love to be able to go back and read all of them, I bet there would be a few giggles to be had!  I thought it would be fun to do one of these Tags as a way of letting my followers know a little bit more about me.  This particular Tag was on Charlotte’s blog (Charlottes Obsessions) and she tagged anyone that wanted to do it.  Anyway, here’s my effort:

Vital Statistics…

Me: Laura

Nicknames: Lau, Boaty (my cousin calls me Boaty, its a long story which I wont get into on here on account of the fact that only she calls me it)

Birthday: 26th September

Place Of Birth: Sunderland, North East England

Zodiac Sign: Libra

Male or Female: Female

Occupation: Postgraduate Student

Residence: I still live in Sunderland
Screen Name: @whatlauraloves on Twitter

Hair Colour: My hair is blonde; its natural but i do get some highlights, or low lights through it if I fancy themHair Length: Shoulder length… I’ve had it really long for the past few years so decided to go for something shorter for autumn/winter.

Eye Colour: I have Hazel eyes.

Best Feature: I like my eyes, whether they are my best feature or not, I don’t think that’s for me to judge.

Height: 5ft 5″

Braces: I had train tracks when I was younger for about a year… I remember having them taken out on my birthday.

Glasses: I have photosensitive eyes (bright lights give me headaches and strain my eyes) and an astigmatism (think that’s where the lens of your eye is shaped like a rugby ball rather than a football) so I do have some glasses but most people with good eyesight wouldn’t notice the difference if they had them on.  I hardly wear them though, just when I really need them.  They’re pink, have a crystal heart on them and my Dior.  What more can I say?

Piercings: I only have my ears pierced.  I used to have them done in a few different places when I was going through that wannabe rock chick at 16, but took them out when I came to my senses.  Now I just have the one hole in each lobe and one cartilage piercing on my left ear at the top.

Tattoos: I don’t have any, yet.  I keep saying I’m going to get one but to be honest, I’m scared and really not a fan of paying for pain.

Righty Or Lefty: I’m right handed.

My ‘Firsts’…

First Best Friend: Kyle

First Award: I cant remember the exact name of it but it was something to do with brushing my teeth and the certificate had a little picture of a beaver on with big teeth.  I think it was sponsored by Crest.

First Sport You Joined: Horse riding.

First Real Holiday: We went away in the caravan a lot but my first abroad holiday was to Florida with my mam and dad.

First Concert: Hear’Say (shamefully admitting that here!)

First Love: Im not sure I knew what love was as a teen.

Movie: I don’t really have a favourite.  If I’m going to the pictures I LOVE to watch horrors but my favourite DVDs that I watch at home are things like What A Girl Wants, The Holiday, that kinda thing.  Girlie films… and I’m not ashamed to admit that I love the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montanna movie!

TV Show: Soaps wise, I love Home and Away, Corrie, Emmerdale, Eastenders.  I like others but couldn’t live without these soaps.  Other than that, I have been really getting into Pretty Little Liars on Viva and I love the Katie Price series, Waterloo Road and programmes like Midsommer Murders.

Colour: Pink, white, gold

Song: It Must Have Been Love by Roxette as it reminds me of my mam and Everything by Michael Bublé

Sweets: I’m not really a big sweetie fan.  I do like the occasional Double Decker or Snickers though.

Restaurant: The Blacksmiths Table Restaurant in Washington or Akhbars Indian restaurant.

Store: Selfridges or if online stores count then Yours Clothing (plus size fashion at affordable prices)

School: I hated school with a passion, mainly because I was bullied.  However I LOVED college.  Being 17 was the best year of my life.

Book: P.S. I Love You or The Lovely Bones

Magazine: I don’t really read magazines but when I do I usually buy Glamour, Tatler or OK.

Shoes: UGGs and Jack Wills flip flops (most comfy flip flops ever).

Feeling: Physically, I am feeling bitterly cold.  Emotionally, I am feeling like I have the whole world on my shoulders.

Single or Taken: Taken (forever, hopefully!)

Eating: Nothing, but I’m drinking a cup of milky coffee.
Typing: This blog post, duh.  (I always used to write duh or dur at the end of questions like this years ago :P)

Online: Oh yes, clearly.

Listening to: TFM Radio- The Saturdays are on at the moment.

Thinking about: This mountain of criminal law work that needs to be done before my next two study days at university.

Wanting: I really want to be snuggly and warm (back in bed!) and to get some motivation back into my studies.

Watching: Nothing other than this screen.

Want Children?: Yes, two, hopefully one of each 🙂

Want to be married: Of course, we want the fairytale.

Careers in Mind: I want to be a solicitor.

Where do you want to live: Somewhere in the English countryside, Northern England though.

Have You Ever…?

Kissed a Stranger: Yes, I kissed a few frogs before I met my Prince Charming!

Had Alcohol: Yes, more than my fair share I’d say, especially when I was in college.  I can take it or leave it now, just doesn’t bother me.

Smoked: Nah, my nana died of lung cancer when I was 16 so that kind of put me off for life!

Ran Away from home: No I haven’t.  I think i have wanted to on occasion, but I love my home comforts too much so I doubt Id last very long.

Broken a bone: I broke my leg once… on my way to PE.  Highly embarrassing, especially when a paramedic on a motorbike turned up and then an ambulance in the middle of break time.

Broken someones heart: Apparently so but I’m sure they got over it!

Broken up with someone: Yes and I’m not sad about it otherwise I wouldn’t have the relationship I have today.

Cried when someone died: Yes.  Although I tend to go into a weird state of shock where I cant cry as I’m so numb.  Plus I laugh when I’m nervous so I’m great at funerals.  I don’t deal with grief very well at all, I think I choose to block everything out and pretend it hasn’t happened rather than face up to it and deal with it.

Cried at school: Yes, many a time.

Do You Believe In…?

God: I believe in people.

Miracles: I believe that good things can happen when you least expect them to so I guess so, yeah.

Love at First Sight: Yes

Ghosts: Yes i completely believe in ghosts, the afterlife and communicating with the dead.

Aliens: Nah.  Hurts my head to think of the universe and life beyond.  Although it would be cool to have life on other planets.

Soul Mates: Yes but i think a soul mate doesn’t necessarily have to be a lover, it can be a friend too.

Heaven: I believe you go somewhere when you die, like I believe that there is an afterlife, whether or not that is heaven, i don’t know.  Id like to hope so.

Hell: I don’t really believe that when you die you go to a place called hell.  Life on earth can be heaven or hell depending on your situation so perhaps when you die it is like that.

Kissing on the first date: Yeah, why not?!

Yourself: I believe in myself to some degree but its pretty inconsistent.  Like some days ill have loads of get up and go and self belief, other days ill be like i cant do this 🙁

Half Full or Half Empty: It sounds silly but I am kind of in the middle.  Like i usually air on the half empty side but then I tell my self positive things (half full) to try to make myself feel better.  Its all a con!  Haha, id say more half empty though.

I Tag: Everyone!

I thought I would just tag everyone so that I cant leave anyone out.  If you do it, post the link to your blog in the comments box below.  Id love to read them and find out more about you all.

Happy Tagging 🙂

Haha me neither, I think I only knew the song they first released (the one where it looks like they're lighting their farts in the video!). Plus we were sitting at the back, the VERY back of a packed stadium. Think we will have both moved on to better concerts lol xxx
