The Ultimate Valentines Gift Guide for Women

Valentines Day is just around the corner but don’t worry if you are unsure as to what to buy the lady in your life because as always, I am here with one of my gift guides to take the stress out of your Valentines Day shopping.

I know that many people pass Valentines Day off as a way of the card shops making extra money and that you should tell the people around you that you love them all the time.  Of course, I do agree with this and I shout from the rooftops about how much I love Mr WLL everyday but I also think that it is one day a year for you to do something extra special for your partner just because you love them.

So come on boys, you’re not getting off that lightly!  I’ve scoured the internet to find the top gifts that I think your lady is sure to love this Valentines Day.

These gifts are organised into three categories; Save (£30 and under), Spend (£70 and under) and Splurge (over £70).  All of the images below are shopable.  Simply click on them to be taken straight to the website where you can find out more about each item and purchase them.

Save (£30 and under)

As you can see above, for Valentines Day, there are so many things to buy for a low price that it really isn’t necessary to spend a fortune if you don’t have the money or don’t want to.  Our anniversary is a couple of days after Valentines Day so Mr WLL tends to get me one big present and then some smaller things for each day and I love them all the same regardless.

This is also the perfect category for buying a high end lipstick from think Charlotte Tilbury and Chanel.  Need I say anymore?

Chiffon Tiered Ruffle Babydoll

Another option for Valentines Day gifts is lingerie and babydolls.  The Chiffon Tiered Ruffle Babydoll from the Plus Size Lingerie Boutique.  This white babydoll is perfect for special occasions, wedding evenings and anniversaries.  It has sheer lace cups, a white satin empire waistline with a pretty bow in the centre and tiers of white chiffon ruffles that float down the babydoll.  It comes with a matching thong too that is pretty plain so as not to detract from the gorgeous top.

Available in 1X-2X and 3X to 4X in white or iris (purple), I’m sure your lady will love this babydoll.

Spend (£70 and under)

There are so many gorgeous high end fragrance gift sets available in this category.  You could of course buy a big bottle of perfume which would be ideal if she has a favourite scent but if you’re not sure what fragrance she would prefer, the Cologne Collection by Jo Malone is ideal if you don’t know what scent she would prefer as it contains five miniature fragrances.

For me, House of Fraser do the best selection of beauty and fragrance gift sets.  Another alternative would be to put together a gift from a beauty counter with perhaps a lip pencil, lipstick and gloss.  If you’re in the Metro Centre, head to the Chanel counter in House of Fraser, the ladies on the counter are so lovely and are always really helpful when I go there.  Chanel make some gorgeous body care products that are really luxurious and indulgent but don’t break the bank too much.  They’re a real treat.  My favourite scent is Coco Mademoiselle and I’d really recommend the hair mist and body cream as well as the fragrance.

If you’re not wanting to buy makeup or fragrance (if, for example, your lady is like me who has enough to open a store), then an experience day is a really good option.  I found loads on Very and they often have money off.  Often the experience days are for two people so they’re the perfect gift as they enable you to do something as a couple.

Elomi Betty lingerie set from Bras Galore

Another option would be a gorgeous lingerie set.  For many women, matching underwear makes them feel sexy, feminine and put together.

The Betty bra and thong by Elomi from Bras Galore is the perfect option.  With 50’s inspired polka dots on the sheer cups, pink rose embroidery on the top of the cups and a pink bow in the centre, this bra and thong set is feminine and seductive in equal parts.  The bra is a non padded bra that is low at the centre at the front which gives the wearer the plunge effect without being a push up bra.  It has thick adjustable straps with three hooks and eyes at the back to fasten it which will provide a lot of support for women with an ample bust.

The Betty plunge bra is available in a 34 to 46 back size and D to HH for the cups while the thong comes in sizes 14 through to 24.  If you’re unsure of her size, I’d suggest having a look at the lingerie she usually wears and check out the size in the label.

You can find the bra here and the thong here where there is also a brief version.

Splurge (over £70)

When it comes to indulging your woman in make up, you can look no further than Charlotte Tilbury who create the most amazing makeup gift sets.  My picks would be the Dolce Vita Look Gift Box or the Future Vintage Collectors Edition but they’re all, and I mean ALL, amazing and they suit almost anyone.

If you wanted to go with another brand, although I don’t know why you would!), you can go along to any make up counter, tell the sales assistant your budget and they can put together a box of products for you to suit your budget.  If you’re on a tight budget, you could easily to this with the help of a sales assistant in Boots or Superdrug as I’m sure they’d be more than happy to help you to pick out some drugstore makeup for the woman you love.  Regardless of your budget, if you’re buying make up for someone, take along an image of the person, or tell the server on the counter what colour hair, skin tone and eye colour your lady has so that they can help you to pick out products to suit that person.

Another luxury brand worth splurging on this Valentines Day is Jo Malone.  Their Wood Sage and Sea Salt Luxury Gift Set is the stuff of dreams while the Red Roses gift set was literally made for Valentines.  Perfume gift sets are ideal as they look more substantial, have complimentry products for her to try out and enable her to layer up the scent for a longer lasting effect however a stand alone bottle of perfume will still be gratefully received.

The ultimate in luxury gifting is of course a designer bag or shoes or a watch or piece of jewellery.  My favourite places to splurge in are The Outnet, Net A Porter and Selfridges.

Feel free to bookmark this page, repost it or email the link to any other gift givers out there who you think will be in need of a little shopping inspiration this Valentines Day!

I love the red robe from the Britney Spears collection … I'm hoping my husband will buy me a wiggle dress from Nyla Rose – I have nowhere to wear one so its an unnecessary purchase that can only be a gift. C xx

I would LOVE some perfume and those Vivienne Westwood Heart earrings you showed. But in reality, I'll be happy with just a gorgeous glass of bubbles and 5 mins to myself (3 cherubs of my own). Ha ha xx

I also wrote a V-day gift guide focused on luxuries. I love your choices. I love the idea of spoiling myself a little, since I figure my husband won't go out and buy something like a luxe lipstick. Maybe someday a Jo Malone perfume 🙂 This was a great
