January has been and gone and for the most part, I’ve been ill. Being poorly has meant I’ve used more nourishing and moisturising products to really get my skin back on top form after all of the days spent under a duvet of artificial heat with a packet of Kleenex, so that’s what you’ll mainly see with my favourite products in January. There’s some skincare, hair care and make up here, so lets jump right in…
For me, January has been all about taking care of my skin and making the most of looking natural. Aside from the last week of the month where I had lots of events to attend, I’ve pretty much gone make up free for the whole of January and I must say, my skin has thanked me for it. A couple of staples in my skincare routine have been the Good Things Fresh Start Creamy Cleanser from Boots which when used with the most recent addition to my skincare routine, the Riosonicleanse from Very, has worked wonders with deeply cleaning and nourishing my skin, getting rid of all of the gunk and leaving me with super soft skin that’s brighter than it has ever been before. I’ll be doing a full review of the Riosonicleanse in February once I’ve finished giving it a thorough road test but if you want my initial opinion on my favourite ‘January Favourite’- it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Oh and with all of this central heating, ice cold temperatures, snow and nose blowing, I couldn’t have survived January without my Avene Extremely Rich Compensating Cream from Boots keeping my skin soothed and almost treated with moisture and the Pink Guava Born Lippy lip balm from The Body Shop which has kept my lips soft and tasty all month. If you’re looking for a little Winter Lip Therapy using this lip balm then give this post a browse.
As a blogger who attends the odd event or two and a self certified North East socialite who simply cannot turn down a party (who do I think I am?!- just kidding of course!), having scaly legs just isn’t an option as come rain or shine, I need to be on call to whip my legs out, don a fancy dress and get snap happy with my Nikon 1. The only scrub that has done the job for me this month has been the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub that I got from Boots. This key lime pie smelling beauty has scrubbed my pins to perfection and it’s done a pretty good job on my whole body too for that matter. This one is definitely a hit with me and by the sounds of the feedback on my review, you all love it too!
I’ve been really focusing on growing my hair this month by nourishing it, keeping it soft and not over styling it. My favourite hair product that has really helped my hair over the last two months actually is the Schwarzkopf Gliss Liquid Silk Express Repair Conditioner from Superdrug. I spritz this all over my hair, really focusing on the ends, after towelling and I brush it through with my Tangle Teezer. It makes my hair super soft, glossy and so easy to manage.
Finally, my makeup favourite of the month has to be the Pur Minerals 4 in 1 pressed mineral make up compact from Marks and Spencer and it’s accompanying flat top kabuki style brush that I’ll be reviewing on my blog this week. This powder is amazing as it covers almost everything, blurs imperfections and leaves my skin looking flawless. Love, love love.
