One of my favourite things about autumn fashion is layering. Dressing in this way enables us to stay warm while giving the option of peeling off the layers should we experience an Indian Summer and get a little bit too warm. Plus, it looks great.
The quickest way to update your wardrobe is with knitwear and today, I’m going to show you three of my favourite styles along with pieces that you can add to your outfit to complete that autumnal layered look.
New Look Inspire have some great options for my plus size lovelies out there and I love how affordable but excellent quality their garments are.
The Burgundy Ribbed Drop Pocket Cardigan is a great place to start. Not only is the colour an instant nod to autumn fashion but its super comfortable too. I have so many of these cardigans in my collection from New Look as they’re great to layer up over camis and look equally as nice whether you’re wearing them to work with black trousers or out at the weekend with bootcut jeans. I love the cut of the drop pocket style, how the cardigan is open and how it falls in a really flattering way.
I love adding scarves to my outfits and a scarf tied in so many different ways looks great with a cardigan.

For those who like to snuggle up in something a little more casual, the Blue Check Wrap is an excellent choice. I love wraps and ponchos during the colder months as they’re so comfortable and really easy to wear. Simply pull on some jeans and a long sleeved top or jumper, depending on how cold it is, and wrap yourself up or leave the wrap hanging over your shoulders. I particularly like this layering piece for when I’m going shopping as its easy to pop on and off when I’m trying on clothes and it layers easily over the top of other items.
I love adding accessories to my outfits and a floppy hat or a bobble hat with a bit pom pom on looks great with a poncho or wrap.

Finally, for really cold days, I’d recommend layering up a vest top or cami with a thicker fluffy jumper such as this Samya one with contrasting stripes. I had a leopard print one last year and loved how cosy it was, especially when layered with a lighter coat.
