Spring has sprung and with the flowers starting to grow comes a change in lip colour from darker berry tones to pinks, lights and brights.
With the change in season, there is no better lipstick to turn to than the Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Fuchsia.
If you’re looking for a bright pink that sticks around on the lips for hours and hours then this is it and heres why…
This is the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in the colour Melted Fuchsia* which is the most incredible pink lip colour I’ve seen in a long time.
Too Faced are a brand that I have loved for at least ten years now and remember first wearing the products when I was getting into makeup. The Melted lipsticks are a relatively new range from them and include some of the most intensely pigmented, beautiful colours around. There’s Melted Fuchsia which is a vibrant magenta pink, Melted Ruby which is a classic true red, a deep plum called Melted Violet, a soft orange toned coral known as Melted Coral, a delicate neutral nude known as Melted Nude and a beautiful soft pastel pink with a hint of lilac called Melted Peony.
I often find that liquid lipsticks can be tricky to apply however this one is so easy as the product has a built-in applicator that makes it really simple. To put it on, simply remove the lid and gently squeeze the tube so that the soft tip becomes saturated in the product and then apply it to the lips. The product comes out very evenly and isn’t messy at all. The applicator hugs the lips and enables the product to glide onto the lips making it really easy to fill in the lips with colour, even the cupids bow.
The pigmentation of this lipstick is nothing short of incredible. It is so opaque in one swipe and the colour that it imparts is so true and pure, I just love it.
A colour as bright as this may frighten some and for me, I do love to wear bright lipsticks but I’m often so worried that they’ll end up on my teeth or smudged if I eat or drink. This doesn’t happen at all with this lipstick and I can wear it completely worry free as it is so long lasting. I don’t think I’ve worn a lipstick that has been quite as long lasting as this one and it is definitely down to the formula.
On first glance, the lipstick has a very rich, creamy colour with an expensive, luxurious formula. When applying it to the lips, it feels smooth and even however it starts to dry quite quickly and sets into place on the lips, leaving a satin, slightly matte finish. The formula is very drying but that’s what is great about it because it enables the lipstick to stick around ALL day.
The funny thing about this lipstick is that although the formula is drying, it doesn’t show all of the imperfections on the lips and it is incredibly comfortable to wear. It feels very lightweight and non sticky on the lips and even after a long day of wearing it, it doesn’t appear to make my lips feel any drier.
I try to keep my lips in good condition anyway and a good tip is to run a town under touchably hot water, hold them over your lips for a few seconds and then gently rub them to remove the dead skin cells and then apply a thick lip balm to replenish them. I do this once a week and then top up with a regular lip balm at night and find that my lips are usually quite soft and supple.
Sometimes though, despite taking good care of my lips, some matte lipsticks look dry, uneven and cling to drier. The Melted Liquified Lipstick doesn’t do this at all and it looks so smooth on my lips. I really love the satin finish it gives and as it dries further it becomes more matte.
What I love the most about this lipstick is that I can apply it first thing on a morning and I know that it is going to last all day. It stains the lips and doesn’t bleed or smudge making it a great option for wearing when I’m going out to dinner or for drinks. It’s absolutely perfect!
