Wow what a week it has been. I’ve never known one like it. A mixture of emotions and id be lying if I said they were all positive but the love of our little Lola, who now has her own Instagram @FrenchieCalledLola, has definitely got us through it. Many of us are facing a great deal of uncertainty, stress and worry at the moment and when mixed with a lot of sadness, it can feel like it’s all getting a bit too much.
I really do believe that it’s in times like this that positivity has to pull rank. Look for the good, make the best of situations and help each other when you are able to. I really believe that we’ll come out of this far more resilient, tenacious, resourceful and, I hope, kinder people. I would like to think that we’ll all be a lot more grateful to as I think that something like this makes you appreciate the little things, the things you already own and the health you already have.
This week, I’ve felt really inspired by Joe McElderry and the team at The Customs House in South Shields including Jordan Embleton and Wycombe 89 Media who were able to pull off organising, executing and capturing a fantastic live stream in only 24hours, with Joe singing #LIVEINTOYOURLOUNGE in order to raise money for two charities, Acting For Others & The Customs House which, I’m sure you’ll know by now, is a charity that’s so close to my heart.
I don’t know what I’d do without our little theatre with the big heart. That place has got me through some of the toughest times in my life, enabled me to laugh when I’ve wanted to cry and given me some much needed escapism when I needed it the most. No one knows what lies ahead but I know that our community will fight tooth and nail to keep those doors opening for many years to come as so many people love & are grateful for The Customs House and the work they do for our community.
Joe’s live stream managed to raise well over £7000 and I’m so honoured that I was able to see it happening behind the scenes.
Thank you to those of you who shared my post, joined in with the live stream and donated. No matter how small or large, your kindness matters.
For those who love a black on black outfit, this one from River Island is a great shout. I’ve worn this jumper countless times since I got it and the Molly jeggings are always a great go-to.
