Weleda Summer Travel Kit

Its getting closer and closer to my summer holidays and I’ve noticed on Twitter that its nearly time for many of you to go away too so I thought now would be a good time to start my travel, holiday and tanning related posts.  Starting with a review of the new Summer Travel Kit from Weleda.  It is the first of its kind in the beauty industry as it contains both beauty and health essentials that are suitable for both men and women.

I first tried Weleda products when I received their Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil in my Glossy Box last summer.  I loved how pure and indulgent it was so when I got this pack I was really excited to try the products to see if they lived up to my expectations!

The products in the kit come in a clear zip up bag which is perfect for going through airport security and is really handy for when you’re trying to find things quickly, perhaps on the plane, as you can see exactly where everything is.  It is big enough to fit many more products in too so when I go away I’ll be taking the rest of my skincare minis and a little make up in here too.

The kit contains six 100% pure and natural products which are under 100ml so they comply with airport regulations meaning that you can go through airport security with this in your hand luggage without any problems.  I know I’m focussing on going on an aeroplane here, i.e. abroad, but these summer essentials are perfect for both UK breaks and for holidays abroad.

Citrus Creamy Body Wash

First up in the kit is the Citrus Creamy Body Wash.  It smells amazing and really wakes you up if you use it in your morning shower, very invigorating and awakening.  Although I’d tried this out in the dreary UK, I can imagine it being very refreshing to use it when in a hot country.  Its quite thick and creamy in consistency and feels moisturising on the skin.  Obviously it cleans your skin but it does a good job at making it feel soft, not tight at all, and smelling of  lemons which I love as the fragrance lingers.

The kit also has a Citrus Refreshing Body Oil which is great to use if you’ve been sunbathing all day as it helps to replace the moisture lost in your skin.  It’s also good to use after the Citrus Creamy Body Wash as it helps to layer the scent so that the lemon fragrance lasts longer on the skin.

Layering the lemon scent can be completed with the refreshing Citrus Deodorant.  You only need to spritz it a few times and the scent of lemons and oranges lingers for hours on the skin.

For the more health related products, the kit contains the Rhinodoron Nasal Spray with Aloe Vera which is designed to clear and moisturise the nasal passages.  It is perfect for when you’re in a hot country where the air is dry or if you are somewhere where there is a high pollen count.  It is also great for taking on flights as the air conditioning really dries out the air which not only is bad for your skin but will also dry out your sinuses.  I always get a blocked nose on flights so I’m hoping this will stop it this year.

You also get the Combudoron Spray which is traditionally used to reduce irritation and swelling after insect bites.  This is the product I’m most looking forward to trying as I’m very allergic to mosquito bites, they swell up and fill with liquid and there’s been many a time I’ve had to see a doctor on holiday to get an injection and stronger cream.  I’m yet to find something that works on them so I can’t wait to try this out.  I’ll let you all know how I get on with it when I get back from my holidays (fingers crossed I’ll not get any bites to begin with but it’s highly unlikely!!).

The sixth product in the kit is the Melissa Comp Drops which can be used to relieve nausea, stomach upset, diarrhoea, over indulgence and travel sickness.  I often get travel sick when in the car from the airport to the hotel so it will be handy to see how this performs.  A multi use product like this is great to take away, especially when going abroad as it can treat a variety of symptoms naturally and it’s suitable for all the family.

I can’t wait to try out the health products on holiday this year.  I’ve already used up the body oil and creamy body wash, they were LUSH!  On the Weleda website you can actually buy the mini versions of their products which I’m thinking about doing before I go away as its a great way to try out the other scents to see how you like them.  You can buy the Weleda Summer Travel Kit here for £29.95.
