When it comes to driving, I love the freedom that it gives me and I love looking after it like I talked about in this post but if my car breaks down, I have to admit, I’m clueless. I’ll never forget the time that I was driving my dads car back home late from an event in Manchester and I was so tired that I pulled into Wetherby services for a nap. Since it was the early hours of the morning and I was on my own, I decided to park underneath a street light for added safety while I got a bit of shut eye in the nice warm car. However when I woke up in the freezing cold a few hours later and the car wouldn’t start, I realised that I’d left the key in the ignition and had ran the battery flat.
At the time, I drove a new Peugeot 207 CC GT which automatically went into battery saving mode but my dad’s older Ford didn’t boast such mod cons. With my phone battery dying, I called the RAC in a total panic who came out to save me and get me on my way home. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t know what I would have done but one things for sure, I’ll not be making the same mistakes again!
What kind of a motorist are you then? Are you all clued up and able to help someone stuck at the roadside or would you take a leaf out of my book and be completely clueless too?
The RAC are challenging you to take their new quiz to find out what type of driver you are; an Everyday Hero, Reserved Rescuer or a Drive-on Byer.
Everyday Hero
You’re the real champion of the roadside: a modern-day white knight, saving the day for the broken-down and stranded. If only there were more drivers like you…
Reserved Rescuer
In an emergency, you’ll step into some hero boots – but you’d rather stay safely behind the wheel. After all, you do have a life to lead.
Drive-on Byer
You cruise down the road and don’t care for interruptions. You’d rather drive on by than help road users in dire straits. In your car, time behind the wheel is about looking after Number One.
