Yesterday marked the return of Mr WLL from his travels working away from home for the last 6 weeks and to celebrate, I took him on a trip to the Metro Centre for a spot of retail therapy. Needless to say, he wasn’t too impressed but kindly carried all of our bags as we bought the last of our Christmas gifts.
The outfit I wore was made up of warm knitwear in a couple of fairly light layers which is key when going Christmas shopping as it can get pretty hot when shopping at the Metro Centre, especially as the mall is all indoors and very crowded! I opted for some light weight, dark jeggings from Evans, a pink Ralph Lauren jumper and the Casual Knitted Poncho in brown from S.Oliver at Curvissa. Layering up winter knits is a great option when shopping as if you get a little hot you can take off the top layer, which in my case was this gorgeous knitted poncho.
Ponchos are a staple item in my wardrobe as they can easily be layered up with thinner jumpers, t shirts and tunics. I have quite a few but was lacking a dark brown poncho, that’s why I opted for the brown over the beige in this style from Curvissa. It has one main row of quite vintage style sophisticated buttons down the front which allows you to wear it closed as a poncho or open as more of a shawl. There is a button under each arm too which gives you the option of wearing it as a loose hanging fit or as a more shapely poncho with arms. Personally I prefer the buttons done up at the front and open under the arms. The poncho has a stand up collar that helps to keep you warm and it has a ribbed hem which adds a nice touch. Whilst it looks good with jeggings and jeans, it would also make a lovely addition to a more smart daytime outfit with leggings and long boots.
