September was pretty much a whirlwind month for me; filled with amazing highs and some lows too and its only now that I’m able to sit back and reflect.
One of the highlights for me has to be going to the Zoella Apartment created by Zoe Sugg and her team, to check out the new Zoella releases for Autumn/Winter 2016.
It was very much a last minute opportunity for me as I was on my way to London for an event on the evening and managed to secure an invite to the apartment. I just wish I’d known in advance so that I could have taken my DSLR with me to capture the beauty of it. My iPhone photos will have to suffice I’m afraid but I’m sure you’ll get the picture of what it was like; bloggers heaven!
The Zoella Apartment was one of the most well thought out launches I’ve been to. No expense was spared in creating the themed apartment inside the Air BnB. Everything was so Instagrammable and I loved how interactive the place was from selfie spots to gingerbread decorating and polaroid taking.
There was a bedroom and bathroom filled with the new releases of the Zoella Beauty range, a study crammed with the brand new Zoella Lifestyle line and an open plan living room, dining room and kitchen that housed the new gingerbread scent and all of the Christmas gifts. It was even decorated as though it were Christmas with a tree and wrapped presents, Christmas decorations and a laid table with Zoella crackers on it.
There was more marble, copper and grey than you could shake a stick at which pleased me greatly as I’m all over that trend right now. The Zoella Apartment was honestly amazing and you could tell throughout that there were so many personal touches that showed that Zoe was really able to put her stamp on the place, especially with the positive quotes and affirmations around the property.
While the apartment was nothing short of fabulous, what really matters is the products that are now available in store and online for customers to buy. Since I visited the apartment a few weeks ago and was lucky enough to receive a few of the products, I’ve had the chance to try them out so that I can review them for you, rather than just show you whats available, and I can let you know whether I would purchase them myself.
Remember, I’m coming at this from a *cough* 28 year old married woman’s point of view rather than as a tween fan. From what I have seen of Zoe from her Youtube channel, I think she seems so lovely and I’m so happy for her that she has been able to enjoy such great success through being herself, but I’m not buying into this range as a Zoella fan, I’m buying into it as an adult wanting great quality products. I have to say that from what I’ve tried and what I’ve seen, thats exactly what I’ve got from this range; great quality, usable products at an affordable price tag.
This isn’t a range that has been chucked together in a month with a famous name slapped on it. Each item seems to have been cleverly thought out and designed from the product itself, through to the packaging and everything is really high quality.
The best decision made was to scale back on the Zoella branding. While the products still have the logo on them or the packaging, it isn’t as obvious, especially with the Zoella Lifestyle range, which I think is so important as it opens the products up to appeal to a wider audience even more so than before.
I generally find that items emblazoned with a persons name on them tend to appeal to someone younger whereas those from their mid twenties and up over tend to prefer something not quite as branded and now the Zoella range has got it spot on.
My favourite line has to be the Zoella Lifestyle range which is made up of stationary, home accessories and home fragrance. It is very much a collection that will be easy to expand throughout the season and I’m so excited to see where Zoe will take this range.
Here you’ll find everything from pencils, notebooks and an organiser filled with post-its through to a keyring, cushion and a travel mug to candles and reed diffusers. The colour palette is beautiful; there’s a lot of grey, copper and marble. Quite frankly, its stunning.
My ultimate favourite though, has to be the Zoella Lifestyle Pottering Around Decorative Storage Pots which can be used for storing anything from plants, to pens and makeup brushes. They come in a pack of two; one in marble with ‘pick me’ and the small Z logo on it in grey and the other in copper with ‘blooming marvellous’ and the same logo in white. The reverse is plain so you can either have them facing you with the lettering showing or turn them around so that they’re plain. Either way, they’re absolutely gorgeous and such high quality as they’re made of a metal material.
I have my makeup brushes in one and eye and lip liners in the other and find that displaying my makeup in this way encourages me to reach for different shades and products rather than the same ones each time I do my makeup!
The candles and reed diffusers from the range really are something special and I think that Zoe has done such a fantastic job with them because the scents capture exactly what you’d envisage by the name of each scent.
The packaging of the whole home fragrance line is so well thought out and includes amazing imagery that depicts the scents inside the boxes.
In the home fragrance range, you’ll currently find the My Eden reed diffuser and My Eden candle which has the scent of fresh roses, jasmine and geraniums. This one is far too floral for me but if you’re someone who loves strong rose scents then this one would be absolutely perfect for you.
My Eden is also available as gift set where you can get the candle and reed diffuser together for a lower amount.
If you prefer a lighter floral scent then Daisy Picking could be for you. The Daisy Picking reed diffuser and candle captures the scent of a summers day with wildflowers and green grass.
I have the Daisy Picking candle and have found that its a great option to burn mid afternoon when I want something uplifting around my home. For such an affordable candle, it throws off lovely light scent and the burn time is really good. I’ve been lighting it often and I’m just reaching the half way mark!
The Daisy Picking fragranced candle is also available as part of the Zoella Candle Duo with Seaside Stroll which would make a lovely gift for someone this Christmas, especially if they’ve just moved into their first home.
The Seaside Stroll candle comes in beautiful pale blue packaging and captures the fresh air and ocean mist feeling of being beside the sea. The Seaside Stroll reed diffuser is equally as fresh and would make a great addition to any bathroom or living space.
If you’re someone who loves foodie scents then Gingerbread Village fragranced candle will be perfect for you. The Gingerbread Village reed diffuser and candle captures the sweet and spicy, warming scent of gingerbread. You’ll be able to smell fragrance notes of ginger, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg which make this the ideal candle for burning in a kitchen. Yummy!
My favourite of all however has to be the Lazy Days candle and Lazy Days reed diffuser, both of which I’ll be looking to purchase next time I update my home fragrances. This scent captures the essence of a calm, cosy day, snuggled up in fresh linen and cotton.
This scent is also available as the part of the Lazy Days Fragranced Candle and Sock Set which comes with a snuggle pair of grey, cable knit socks. I couldn’t think of anything more perfect as a winter birthday or Christmas gift. Plus if you want to get all matchy matchy, theres the Warm Hands, Warm Hearts set with the Zoella travel mug and fingerless gloves that match the socks inside.
With the Zoella Home Fragrance collection, I really feel as though there’s a stand out scent for everyone. The scents are so different to one another and they’ve covered all bases so while you may find a lots that you like, I think you’ll find one that when you smell it, you’re like, BAM! ITS LOVE! and for me, that was with the Lazy Days fragrance.
After I managed to pull myself away from the incredible lifestyle collection, I was able to check out the Zoella Christmas Collection and the Zoella beauty Classic Collection Update.
I discovered that one of the products that Zoe had wanted to bring out from the very beginning was a hand sanitiser but it took a lot more work than first anticipated. After lots of work, the Hand on Heart hand cleanser was born. This little gem is a handbag hero that leaves your hands smelling fresh and feeling clean without drying them out which is so important for me as I have a little dermatitis and psoriasis on my hands which can be so painful.
The Wondrous Whip body cream is a new addition that I think will be so popular when the cold weather really sets in and we want to nourish our bodies. It contains extracts of Vitamin E, Aloe and Shea Butter which are all great at moisturising and calming the skin.
Another new addition that I think will be equally as popular come the dark, cold nights is the Scooper Dooper foaming bath soak. This is a bubble bath that also contains Vitamin E, Aloe and Shea Butter which make for a softening and soothing bath that you can relax in.
However my favourite part of the Zoella Beauty line was discovering that they have brought back the scrub. If you read my Zoella Beauty Review where I shared my thoughts on a few pieces from my favourite line to date, Tutti Fruity, then you’ll know just how much I loved the scrub. I was absolutely gutted when they discontinued the line as I felt that this was a stand out product to rival the likes of Soap and Glory.
The Pretty Polished Sugar Scrub has been brought back, given a new name and a change of scent to the same smell as the rest of the core collection. It is SO good at buffing away dead skin and leaving your skin soft, glowing and moisturised. I’ll definitely be ordering some pots when I run out of my current body scrub.
For Christmas, the Zoella Beauty range has the most fabulous christmas gifting section that I know so many of you will love.
Lots of the range centre around the new gingerbread scent which I must admit, isn’t my favourite as the smell is a little too full on for my own tastes however the quality of the products is really high. The Hungry Hands hand cream is so moisturising that it would be a great option for keeping your hands soft and supple through the whole festive season!
My favourite Christmas gift set has to be the Zoella Secret Scenta Mini Mist Set which contains four mini sizes of the Zoella Beauty fragrances. There’s Blissful Mistful, Lets Spritz!, Sweet Inspirations and Bake My Day all in miniature form which are great for your handbag.
We all know that the Zoella Beauty and Lifestyle ranges will be popular with her younger viewers but what about for a woman? YES! I think that there is something for everyone with this range and I’d urge you to go to check it out… ESPECIALLY the new lifestyle bits!
The Zoella Lifestyle and Beauty collection is available in store and online NOW! I’ve linked to all of the items above so that its easy for you to head on over to each piece. Some bits are exclusive to certain stores so if you can’t find the item you’re looking for on one website then head to another and you’ll find it there.
